Before checking for specific prices, here are answers to two of the most common questions our prospective customers ask.

Why does silver restoration cost what it costs?  Restoring silver is a very labor-intensive process.  (See How We Restore Silver.)  All the work is done by hand…by Americans who are experts at their trade.  And with the price of silver at or near all-time highs, this combination is the reason for pricing at these levels. But remember that with ProShine, you get a full 30% off comparable prices!

How can I tell if it′s worth having my old or damaged silver restored?   Here′s how.  If you will be using the silver to entertain…or if the silver has been in your family for many years and you want to pass it along to the next generation, then restoration IS worth doing.  By having your fine silver restored by experts, it will be truly beautiful and last for many years to come.

However, if you are not emotionally attached to the silver and are just thinking of having it restored so you can resell it, then it may not be worth the investment.  This is because the price of restoration may not always be recoverable by selling the piece(s).  Of course, the final decision on this is completely up to you.

NOTE: For polishing only, deduct 40% from plating prices.

Please examine your piece(s) and note the following special conditions that may apply to your
item(s):

   Pitted and corroded pieces - We may not be able to remove these blemishes entirely but we will do the best job possible.  We can always make items look beautiful but we can't always make them look like new.  Occasionally we encounter a problem during the cleaning or plating process which prevents us from completing the work.  Under these circumstances, we reserve the right to return your piece unfinished (at no charge).

   Frosty Finish - If the base metal has a distinct "frosty" finish, we will do our best to preserve it.  But if the "frosty" finish is faded, it will be removed during the plating process and a regular bright finish will be furnished.

   Engraving - Ordinary engraving will show up just as well after plating.   However, we cannot remove deep scratches, gouges or pits near the engraved or hand-tooled areas of the piece without removing the engraving, too.

   Soldered Joints - If parts are to be soldered, the soldered area will show unless the piece is completely replated (except sterling).  We recommend this to ensure the best job possible.

   Glass, China, Enameled or Jeweled Prices - Are only accepted only at your own risk.

If you can't find a price on our website, you may e-mail us a photo of your piece, send your piece to us for an estimate or call us toll-free at 1-800-722-8464, ext. 609.
